918 Bathurst Centre for Culture, Arts, Media & Education
918 Bathurst Street, Toronto, ON M5R 3G5

Schedule:

9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. – Arrivals & Refreshment
10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. - AGM
11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Panel Discussion: Empower yourself: Confident negotiation for visual artists

You’ve been offered an exhibition, but the fee is lower than you hoped. Maybe your work was posted online, and you weren’t offered anything… What’s your next move? Do you ask for more or keep your head down?

Fees and contracts are negotiable more often than you might think. This presentation series will explore ways to ask for more without damaging the working relationships you count on

The Board of Directors of CARFAC Ontario is please to invite their fellow members to this year’s AGM. A FREE panel discussion on negotiation for artists is scheduled for 11:30 immediately following the AGM. Non-members are welcome to participate for a small fee. We are pleased to be able to bring this topic– which was also the theme of the 2015 CARFAC National AGM – to the attention of artists in Ontario.

Panelists include trusted legal expert Adam Freedman of Torys LLP and CARFAC Ontario Board member and practicing artist Kristen Fahrig. The panel promises to be an interesting and important discussion specifically geared towards practicing artists looking to empower themselves by learning more about the art and science of negotiating. We would like to thank CARFAC National and Access Copyright Foundation for their support of the panel.

Registration:

CARFAC Ontario members: Free

Non-members: $15

Please RSVP on-line: https://carfacontario-agm-2015.eventbrite.ca
