What Is An Institutional Membership?
CARFAC Ontario’s Institutional Membership is designed for institutions with an interest in the visual arts in Ontario. We have tailored this membership package so that institutions - such as, but not limited to, artist-run centres, private and commercial galleries, arts resource organizations, and arts businesses - can benefit fully from CARFAC Ontario’s services.
As a CARFAC Ontario Member, your institution has access to all our standard membership benefits and services, such as:
- Advocacy when you need it: we can help you in your professional dealings at no extra fee;
- Free information and support through our toll-free number, 1 (877) 890-8850, accessible from anywhere in any province;
- Discounts on books and publications by and for visual artists;
- A bi-monthly email bulletin of opportunities for artists, including announcements, calls for submissions, employment opportunities and artist residency information;
- Our quarterly newsletter DISPATCH, with news and articles on issues relating to the business of your art, member profiles, CARFAC Ontario news, and a grants calendar; and
- Free or discounted workshops on marketing your work, grant writing, copyright, income taxes, and more.
As an Institutional Member, you also receive some additional benefits, including:
- A complimentary copy of our highly popular publication Model Agreements for Visual and Media Artists in Ontario: an artist-friendly guide to writing contracts and legal agreements such as bills of sale, exhibition loan agreements, and copyright licence agreements;
- A free quarter-page ad in DISPATCH, and discounted rates on subsequent ads;
- Discounts on our workshops for the institution's staff;
- Discounted rates for teleconference calls through Bell Conferencing Inc.; and
- Institutional information posted on our website.
An Institutional Membership costs $125 per year.
