  • Sustaining Membership
    Like our regular membership, a sustaining membership is an allowable business expense, and helps to sustain our current programs and services. A complimentary Artists' Day Planner is sent to sustaining members as a token of our appreciation.

Introducing: Automatic Renewal

If you have ever received an exhibition fee in your visual or media art practice, you have already benefited from our work. Your continued support contributes to the cause of artists working for artists. By choosing an automatically renewing membership or one of the new low-fee payment plan options, you can make a commitment to on-going support of an organization that is committed to working for you.

We recognize that membership fees are a big investment, that the advocacy work that we do on behalf of artists is often intangible, and that you may not have an immediate need for all of our services. Your membership dollars help our organization thrive and plan for the future, and ensure that when you need us, we will be here.

In addition to the convenience of never having to worry about renewing your CARFAC Ontario membership, we have added the option of paying for your membership on a monthly or quarterly basis. We also included automatically renewing membership options for those of you who wish to continue to benefit from your annual membership, but don’t want to ever again worry about remembering your renewal date.

Methods of Payment:

Membership fees may be paid by cheque, money order, VISA or PayPal Online Payments. Cheques are payable to CARFAC Ontario. Cash and debit payments can only be made in person at the CARFAC Ontario office, please do not send cash. If you do not wish to use PayPal Online Payments, you can send your membership form and payment by mail (VISA or cheque) or by fax (VISA only) to our office. Download a membership form now.

How To Use PayPal Online Payments:

Using PayPal Online Payments is fast, easy and secure. However, it can be intimidating at first. If you encounter any problems, please feel free to contact us.

  • First you must make sure to allow "cookies" and "pop-ups" on your browser.
  • Click on the "add to cart" button below the type of membership you wish to purchase.
  • A new window will open. This is your "PayPal Shopping Cart".
  • You can then click on "Continue Shopping" to return to our web site and add other items such as books or workshops to your online shopping cart.
  • Or, you can click on "Proceed to Checkout." This will allow you to finish making your payment on the PayPal web site
  • When you have finished using PayPal, you will be returned to our web site to a page titled "One more step to complete your payment... " If that does not happen, browse back to this window and click here.

The International Association of Artists defines a professional artist as one who:

  • Earns a living through art making; and / or
  • Possesses a diploma in an area considered to be within the domain of fine arts; and / or
  • Teaches art in a school of art or applied art; and / or
  • Whose work is often seen by the public or is frequently or regularly exhibited; and / or
  • Is recognized as an artist by the consensus of opinion among other professional artists.
