• Serving as a unified voice for visual and media artists in the development of cultural and economic policy and processes;
  
  

• Encouraging fair pay for artists;
  
  

• Producing and publishing information relevant to artists, and delivering public presentations;
  
  

• Providing services for artists including access to pro-bono legal advice, access to group health benefits, up-to-date news on issues of importance to artists, and individual consultation;

• Enhancing public understanding and awareness of the visual arts and the role of visual artists in society;
  
  
• Engaging in partnerships and sectoral development initiatives;
  
  
• Conducting, and amplifying research

CARFAC Ontario actively works to subvert historical inequities within the arts sector that have disproportionately excluded Indigenous, Black, and racialized artists, artists identifying as members of equity-seeking groups, and artists who experience systemic barriers.

We work in concert with CARFAC National, and as part of a national network of CARFAC affiliates across the country representing and advocating for artists from coast to coast to coast.
