Bill of Sale & Transfer of Sale Agreements (Contracts)

Each time an artist or an artist’s agent sells a work of art, the transaction should be memorialized in writing. This serves several purposes, including: • record‐keeping requirements related to income tax and GST/HST • a record of the artist’s inventory • evidence in court should the buyer not pay the full amount agreed upon for the work.
