Public Gallery Exhibition Agreement (Contract)

A public gallery exhibition agreement is one of the most common agreements artists will enter into. It should be used every time an artist displays his or her work in a public, regional or artist‐run gallery. It can also be adapted for exhibitions in alternative spaces such as public libraries, city or municipal buildings, one‐off exhibitions in private and commercial galleries and artists’ cooperatives spaces, in cases where a gallery is programming work in off‐site locations (for example, bill boards, bus or subway stations), or where the artist is creating work for a specific gallery or designated site in relation to the gallery.
