ANNOUNCEMENTS

At staff discretion, announcements are of arts-related government and non-government news, both provincial and Canada-wide, also including workshops and professional development opportunities.

The following are not included:

1. Institutional and individual exhibitions, art tours, events, and fundraisers
2. Art courses and workshops for artistic skills development.

Please Note: Institutional and individual members can submit their exhibitions to be shared on our website here

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

We welcome the opportunity to share funding opportunities relevant to visual and media artists (i.e. grants, bursaries, awards) with our members. Funding opportunities that require applicants to pay submission fees will not be included.

CARFAC Ontario staff may evaluate funding opportunities with consideration for the administrative labour required to complete submission/proposal processes, and exclude, at its discretion, opportunities where labour required to complete an application is disproportionate to the level of funding available.

We will prioritize funding opportunities that are designed to be accessible to all artists, and that acknowledge systemic barriers experienced by members of equity-seeking groups.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Must be paid jobs or offer adequate honorarium. Unpaid internships and volunteer positions will not be included.

RESIDENCIES

Preference will be given to residencies offering honorarium and/or financial assistance to artists. Residencies that charge application fees may be considered for inclusion at staff’s discretion.

CALLS FOR SUBMISSION

  • Non-Commercial Exhibitions: The artist(s) must be paid exhibition royalties (i.e. artists' fees) according to the current CARFAC-RAAV Minimum Recommended Fee Schedule

  • Commercial Exhibitions: Must present an opportunity for the artist to receive compensation for the sale of their work(s). Of the revenue generated by the sale of the artists' work(s), 60% is to be paid to the artist and 40% is to be paid to the dealer/organization.
